Mid Scandinavia offers untouched nature and a unique hospitality. Small and unexplored local places together with rich culture and stunning surroundings will leave you with memories for a lifetime!
Mid Scandinavia Tours focus is to show you the most hidden and unique places in Scandinavia. We will stop at a few tourist hotspots but most of the time we are taking you off the beaten tourist track to places that are hard to find if you don’t know the local area. You will always travel with a tour guide that has grown up in Scandinavia and that’s what makes it possible to give you an authentic experience!
The pilgrim tour is not an extreme hiking tour. We really take our time as we hike our way along St. Olavsleden and you will have the time to walk at your own speed. But you need to be fit enough to walk the longest stretches of 4 km (2,5 miles). It is well marked forest paths and they are never steep. An ordinary day includes two hikes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
You can find the booking terms & conditions in the link below.
The Pilgrim Tour and the Christmas Tour include a shorter driving distance than the Midsummer tour. In general, Mid Scandinavia tours do shorter drives and focus more on experiencing the unique places. We never drive longer than two hours without stretching our legs.
People often mention how special it is to start the tour as strangers and end it as a group of friends! Another thing that’s mentioned is that you experience so much more of the culture when you travel with a local guide. Mid Scandinavia Tours will also arrange everything for you so you can just relax and enjoy your journey.
Yes, of course! You will find a good travel companion in the group as we drive through Scandinavia! When you do the booking, you can even choose that you want to share a room with another solo traveler.
It happens that travelers for some reason don’t want to join one of the included activities. For example, you are maybe allergic to dogs, so you don’t want to join the dogsledding on the Christmas tour. In cases like this we will always try to find something else you can enjoy in the meantime. Since we often travel to the unique and hidden places in the countryside, there may not be so many other options than the included activity. Therefore, we always recommend travelers to inform us before the start of the tour, so we get some time to arrange it in the best way possible!
Yes, we will always do our best to help you out and deliver high standards on the food no matter what type of diet you have.
You will not have your own seat on the bus and it’s not possible to pay extra to sit on a special seat. We will give everyone on the tour the offer to sit in the front at least one day of the tour.
